Watch history

Watch history is a persistent source-observation index. It is an inspection tool, not a target diary editor.

Scan and grouping

Scan sources reads compatible source instances and stores movie and episode viewCount/lastViewedAt summaries. Logical source media are grouped across duplicate physical Plex library copies; the expanded row lists contributing libraries.

Search, source, media type, available-data, minimum-view, and sort filters are server-backed. Movies appear directly; shows are represented by episode observations.

Playback days

Expanding a row lazily loads exact events supported by the source. Plex combines:

• selected-server history for the connected local user;
• account cloud activity when available and enabled;
• lastViewedAt when it is a valid completed event not otherwise represented.

Events are deduplicated and labeled by origin. A counter can exceed the number of retained exact events. The UI reports the gap instead of creating fictional dates.

Plex account history

Account activity requires Plex Sync Watch State & Ratings. The cloud endpoint may contain playback activity from multiple servers and titles absent from the current server. Brokerr filters to the connected user. This data can feed Letterboxd diary and missing-library import only when the corresponding profile features are enabled.

The watch-history table itself does not write targets and refreshing table filters does not re-query providers.
