Mappings and ignores

Mapping translates one canonical source item into zero, one, or multiple target references. The run details always show actual provenance rather than a generic provider label.

Mapping order

1. A profile-scoped manual override.
2. A direct target identifier present in source metadata.
3. Provider-supported catalog identifiers, such as TMDB or IMDb for Letterboxd.
4. AniBridge descriptors for segmented AniList mapping.
5. Provider-specific safe search only when the plugin contract permits it.

Letterboxd intentionally does not guess by title. An ambiguous item remains unmatched.

AniBridge one-to-many mapping

AniBridge can map one Plex show to multiple AniList entries, including seasons, split cours, and ratio/range coordinates. Each result receives a stable segment key, target ID, progress/rating projection, and mapping provenance. Season 0 is ignored.

The mapping cache allows incremental runs to recompute current segment progress without repeating network mapping. Refresh mappings on the dashboard updates the AniBridge catalog; a later full dry-run reveals changed results.

Manual mapping

Unmatched run cards and the Unmatched page expose a provider-aware editor. Search uses the target’s generic action when available. An override belongs to the profile lifecycle and target instance, so it also fixes ratings, progress, watchlist, and custom-list membership for that profile.

Ignore

Ignoring a source item skips all of its segments before target I/O. Ignoring one unmatched AniList segment from a run affects only that segment where supported. A managed-list member also has a list-specific Ignore that does not suppress the same item in other features.

Restore an ignored item to let the next relevant run map it again.
